Jabeur Bows To Rybakina In Women’s Wimbledon Final

African hearts were broken on Saturday afternoon as Elena Rybakina came from a set down to defeat Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur (3) 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the Women’s Wimbledon 2022 tournament reports Prime Business Africa.

The win was Rybakina’s maiden triumph at the tournament, becoming the 127th woman to win a grandslam title.

The Russian-born winner is the first woman representing Kazakhstan to win a major. The 23 – year – old is also the youngest woman to lift the Venus Rosewater dish since 21- year-old Retra Kvitova in 2011.

Jabeur became the first Arab and African lady in recent memory to reach a grandslam final.
