The Iranian government announced on Wednesday that it has concluded its missile strikes on Israel, a day after launching nearly 200 missiles in retaliation for the assassinations of top Hezbollah and Hamas officials and Israel’s ground invasion of southern Lebanon.

However, Iran warned that any further provocation from Israel would prompt a more forceful response.

“Our action is concluded unless the Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation. In that scenario, our response will be stronger and more powerful,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Tuesday’s missile attack marked Iran’s largest offensive against Israel to date, with state news agency reporting that three Israeli military bases had been targeted. Iran insisted the strikes were defensive and aimed solely at military facilities. Although air raid sirens rang out across Israel, forcing citizens into shelters, no casualties have been reported so far.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation, warning that Iran had made a “big mistake” and that it would face consequences. “Iran made a big mistake tonight – and it will pay for it,” Netanyahu said during an emergency political security cabinet meeting late on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces issued its own warning, stating that any Israeli retaliation would lead to “vast destruction” of Israel’s infrastructure. The statement also cautioned that Iran would target the assets of any regional allies that assist Israel in its response.
