Igbos Are Not Slaves To The North – Niger Delta Leader, Clark

Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark on Tuesday called on the Northerners to cede the presidential position to the Southeast in the interest of peace and unity of Nigeria.

There has been increasing pressure mounted on the two major political parties in Nigeria, the All Nigeria Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to consider a Northern candidate for the Presidential race.

Clark spoke on Arise News’ Morning Show monitored by Prime Business Africa.

“If you want the Igbos to remain second class citizens in their country, then you should have allowed them to go,” Clark told the Arise TV crew.

“There is no moral justification for denying them a sense of belonging. Igbos are no slaves, treat them as equals.

“Nigeria is a three legged black pot, if you don’t allow Igbo Presidency, you’re further destroying Nigeria”

Let peace reign, allow the next igbo man based on competency, “Clark harped.

The Niger Delta Chieftain then admonished Southern politicians not to accept the roles of running mates for any Northern aspirant as that would amount to sabotage.

“Any Southern governor or politician who agrees to make himself a vice president to any Northerner in this election, is not patriotic.

“Gen Yakubu Gowon was removed from office by the Fulani coup Plotters because Gen Yakubu Gowon created “RRR” and was ready to implement them.

The Igbophobia question in Nigeria has lingered on for many years with the agitation for a Biafra nation seen as a veritable means for succession by those who have reservations about an Igbo President.
