The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, has intensified grassroots outreach ahead of the August 15 election, assuring voters that he would deliver on his promises and run an accountable administration if elected.
Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Sunday in Osogbo during an engagement with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors, where he outlined key elements of his policy blueprint and sought the support of artisans.
Speaking through the APC Campaign Council’s Chairman of Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the candidate said his seven-point development plan branded the “Osun Prosperity Agenda” was designed to tackle pressing socio-economic challenges and reposition the state for sustainable growth.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelHe stressed that the agenda prioritises poverty reduction, improved workers’ welfare, job creation, economic expansion, enhanced security, education, and renewed investment in infrastructure, noting that it also includes targeted support for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).
“I will not betray the trust you repose in me. This is a commitment to serve with sincerity and deliver on every promise made,” Oyebamiji said.

The APC flagbearer added that his administration would pursue policies aimed at boosting local enterprise, particularly among artisans and small business owners, whom he described as critical drivers of the state’s economy.
“Our plan recognises your contributions. We will create opportunities, expand access to support programmes, and ensure that your businesses thrive,” he said.
Beyond broad policy goals, Oyebamiji’s campaign has highlighted specific initiatives under the Prosperity Agenda, including social protection programmes for vulnerable residents, measures to improve salary structures and prompt payments for workers, and efforts to attract investment into key sectors of the state economy.
The plan also outlines infrastructure priorities such as reviving major projects and strengthening security architecture through local initiatives and technology-driven surveillance systems.

Framing his candidacy around integrity and accountability, Oyebamiji said his personal values and faith would guide his leadership, insisting that campaign promises would translate into measurable outcomes if he wins the election.
He also dismissed criticisms from opposition parties, describing them as politically motivated, and urged voters to remain focused on what he called a people-oriented development agenda.
“Some are uncomfortable because of the clarity of our plans. But I urge you to stay the course and support a vision that will move Osun forward,” he added.
The August 15 poll is expected to be a keenly contested race, with incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election amid growing political realignments in the state.
In his response, the chairman of the tailors’ association, Rasheed Balogun, commended Oyebamiji for engaging directly with grassroots professionals and expressed confidence in his leadership capacity.
Balogun recalled the candidate’s tenure as commissioner for finance, noting that the association had enjoyed recognition and interaction with government during that period.
He pledged the support of the group, saying members were prepared to mobilise votes in favour of the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.
