High Court Stops Friday’s NFF Annual General Assembly In Lagos

A High Court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has stopped the planned Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Annual General Assembly, AGA scheduled to hold in Lagos on Friday, December 17, 2021.

 

Hon. Justice Isa Dashen of the Federal High Court Yenagoa Division put on hold the December 17 AGA following an order of restraining the NFF from holding the meeting.

 

Ruling on an exparte application filed together with a motion on notice in suit number No.FHC/YNG/CS/133/2021 brought by a retired footballer and Director of Nembe City Football club, Seigha Obiene, the judge say the event should not go ahead.

 

The court ruled that “upon the motion ex-parte

dated the 8″ day of December, 2021 and filed on the 10″ day of December, 2021 coming up before this Honourable Court on the 10” day of Decernber, 2021 praying for the following reliefs:

 

“An order restraining the 1and 2 Sets of Respondents (1-6 Respondents), whether by themselves, their servants, privies, agents, howsoever described, from proceeding with holding of the planned Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee slated for the 17 day of December, 2021 in Lagos State, or on any other date or place in Nigeria; or from holding of any congress under any guise whatsoever, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice,” the judge said.

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc.

In October 2004, Okosi joined Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Complete Sports newspaper and Complete Football magazine as a reporter and later script writer for the Complete Sports studio.

He worked there for 13 years until October 2017.

Okosi also worked various times as Correspondent, Content creator and Editor at Sports Market International Magazine, Opera News, All Nigeria Soccer Media and Iconic Media Watch.

He also undertook freelance writing gigs for some local and international organizations.

Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line.

Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
