Reacting to the news, fans and well-wishers of the superstar poured in encomiums, saying, Nnaji was one celebrity who remained unassuming when it comes to flaunting money on social media.

One Instagram fan of hers with the handle darkowaa_okine, wrote: “No noise, no drama, no scandals. In her lane, and winning . Who doesn’t love Genevieve?”

Another with the username, chicapparelhub_ simply reacted: “Silent mover.”

Genny as she is fondly called by close friends apparently needs no introduction. She is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director. Nnaji won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actor to win the award. She has recorded many firsts in the Nigerian Film Industry affectionately known as Nollywood till date – feats that are too numerous to count.

Just recently, the multi-award-winning screen goddess shared on  Instagram her own take on the incessant South African xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

She had posted: “A life with us isn’t the worse thing. They need see one without us. They’ve shown us countless times who they are. Let’s believe them. It’s time to show them who we are. But most importantly, it’s time we believed in ourselves. They see our potential; our greatness. We need to see it too. It’s tough out here I know, but sooner than later we’ll have to realize it’s all we’ve got. We have to make sure our energy and  resources are beneficial to all things…”
