A Female Inmate Of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Lagos State Command, Okike Chinyere, Has Emerged The Best Graduating Student Of The Peace And Conflict Resolution Department, National Open University (NOUN).

Chinyere bagged Second class Upper alongside another male inmate, Alegbe Afolabi, ahead of others in the school who were not inmates.

The Lagos State controller of Correctional Services, Adewale Francis Adebisi while speaking during formal presentation of the certificates to eight graduands, urged inmates not to allow the fact that they are incarcerated to be a factor preventing them from dreaming to achieve greater heights in life.

Adebisi urged the inmates  to use the “opportunity available while in detention to better their lives so that when they are released, they can contribute positively to the society.”
