Fani Kayode Commends Late TB Joshua

On Monday, January 8, 2024, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) revealed the initial part of a three-part investigative documentary detailing alleged transgressions and sexual offenses attributed to the late Nigerian pastor, Temitope Balogun Joshua, widely known as TB Joshua.  Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani Kayode’s perspective on the matter has also come to light. In a post on his X page, Fani Kayode commended the departed clergyman for his positive contributions.

He expressed, “Indeed! You impacted numerous lives, fought valiantly, endured until the end, and established a remarkable and lasting legacy.

“No individual or institution can tarnish it with unfounded allegations: not even the BBC! “Rest in peace, brother, and thank you for being a significant blessing to the Church, the Christian faith, humanity, and our beloved nation Nigeria. We remain and will always be immensely proud of you.”

It is important to not that Fani Kayode is the first public figure to speak on the documentary. One notable absence in this discourse has been the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), a prominent religious organization with the responsibility of safeguarding the interests and values of Christians in the country.

Despite the gravity of the allegations against TB Joshua, CAN has maintained a conspicuous silence, raising concerns among the public and within the religious community.

The silence of CAN in the face of such serious accusations is perplexing, given its role as a watchdog for Christian interests. One would expect an organization of its stature to take a proactive stance in addressing issues that concern the integrity and reputation of the Christian faith.
