Euro 2024: Spain In Group Of Death; England, Germany, France Get Tough Opponents

The group stage draw for the 2024 European Championship in Germany was held on Saturday evening with Scotland getting the glamour of the opening game and the chance to make an instant impact against hosts Germany, reports Prime Business Africa.

The group of death in the Euro 2024 tournament is apparently Group B that contains current holders, Italy, former champions Spain, 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia, and Albania making up the numbers.

England are the clear favourites in Group C as they are drawn with 1992 winners Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia.

France and Netherlands are the best ranked teams in Group D and have Austria for company but the identity of the fourth team, which will be winners of ‘Playoffs A’ will be made known after March 2024’s playoffs.

Poland, Estonia, Wales, Finland, Estonia are in Group A of the playoffs zone.

Group B playoffs winner from either Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine or Iceland will be pooled in Group E of the tournament which has Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

Group F of the draw on Saturday saw Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in same group as Turkey, Czech Republic and the would-be winners of the Play-off winner C.

The final of Euro 2024 will take place on 14 July at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.

Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

Group D: Play-off winner A*, Netherlands, Austria, France

Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Play-off winner B**

Group F: Turkey, Play-off winner C***, Portugal, Czech Republic
