He commended the party delegates from all the 774 local government areas across the country for the orderly manner they conducted themselves during the exercise.

Duru also hailed the aspirants for their disposition, especially, the ones that gave up their ambition by stepping down for others which narrowed down number of contentants and made the process less contentious.

“We are quite pleased with the turn out, the organisation of the exercise and the conduct of delegates and all party executives who came together to ensure the success of the convention,” Duru stated.

The NWC member enjoined the party stakeholders to align with President Muhammadu Buhari’s admonition in his address at the convention that all should adhere to the unity of purpose for which the party is known and begin to work towards the 2023 general election so as to emerge victorious in various elective positions especially the presidential seat.

With the primaries over and the party candidates for all elective positions having emerged, the focus is now on preparing for the general election which will take place between February and March next year.
