Dowen College Shut Till Further Notice

Dowen college has announced the temporary closure of the school in the wake of the controversies surrounding the death of one of its students.

The young boy, Sylvester Oromoni was reportedly beaten to death at a Lagos school for refusing to join a cult.

According to Perrie, an uncle to the 12-year-old boy who was bullied and beaten, via the microblogging platform, Twitter, revealed that his cousin until his death was a student of a college in Lagos State who was beaten to death by his peers for refusing to join a cult.

However, the school released a statement saying that the boy had injured himself in the hip while playing football. The incident has sparked a lot of outrage with most Nigerians demanding justice.

In a recent development, the school has sent a circular to parents and guardians that the school will be closed for two days.
