Dennis Joins Trent-Arnold, Silva, Jota For English Premier League Player Award

Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis on Friday was nominated for the EA Player of the Month for November in the English Premier League along with some fantastic players who shone for their clubs.

 

Dennis who has been out of favour under Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr in recent times despite his inspiring form finished November with a goal involvement of four, striking against Manchester United and Leicester City while producing two assists in a 4-1 win over the Red Devils.

 

A summer signing from Club Brugge in the Belgian Jupiler, Dennis has participated in 11 goals in the Premier League so far this season – a figure that is bettered only by Mohamed Salah (21).

 

Having hits a superlative form, the goal getter will be aiming of increasing his league goal tally to seven in Saturday’s outing against visitor, Manchester City.

 

Also named among the nominees include Liverpool fullback Trent Alexandre-Arnold who started the month under focus with a sublime free-kick and an assist at West Ham United.

Trent Arnold also set up three goals subsequently in November as his team kept two clean sheets.

 

Portuguese fullback Joao Cancelo was integral to three straight wins for Manchester City.

 

He forced an own goal and assisted another in the 2-0 success at Manchester United, the first of two clean sheets. He also produced an exquisite pass for the opener in Man City’s victory against Everton.

 

Also making the cut is Liverpool’s Diogo Jota who made sure Roberto Firmino’s absence was not felt up front with three goals in as many matches. The Portuguese’s strikes came in successive 4-0 home wins against Arsenal and Southampton.

 

Portuguese playmaker Bernado Silva is arguably the Player of the Season so far and was deservedly named among the best stars of November.

 

Silva was in superb form, scoring twice and starring at the heart of Man City’s midfield during the month. Silva’s goals came in the derby win at Man Utd and then against Everton.

 

Finally but not the least was Aston Villa’s John McGinn who played a starring role as Villa recovered from a defeat against Southampton to give Steven Gerrard victories in his first two matches as head coach.

 

McGinn scored a spectacular goal late on at Crystal Palace to secure the second of those successes.
