Davido Honours Late Son On Father’s Day

Davido, the renowned Nigerian musician, is commemorating Father’s Day while also mourning the loss of his beloved son, Ifeanyi, who tragically passed away in October 2022.

On June 18, 2023, Davido took to social media to express his emotions and share his struggles with his followers. In a heartfelt message, Davido acknowledged that this Father’s Day was particularly challenging for him.

Despite the immense grief he carries in his heart, he expressed gratitude to God for giving him the strength to endure such trying times. “Difficult Father’s Day for me…. But I thank God for strength,” he wrote.

He further acknowledged that some days would be filled with overwhelming sorrow. However, Davido concluded his message with a poignant self-encouragement, stating, “Water fills my eyes but I’ll be alright! Forever.”

This year marks Davido’s first Father’s Day without Ifeanyi. The young boy tragically lost his life in a drowning accident at Davido’s Banana Island mansion. It was a devastating incident that occurred while his parents were away in Ibadan. Ifeanyi was three years old at the time of his untimely passing.
