A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday afternoon in Auchi, Edo State, when a Dangote truck suffered brake failure and crashed into a white Mercedes-Benz GLK directly in front of Omega Fire Ministries, claiming the lives of three people and leaving one critically injured.

Eyewitnesses said the truck veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a BUA truck before bursting into flames. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of heavy-duty vehicles operated by private companies.

Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, condemned the accident, accusing Dangote Industries of negligence in managing their fleet. In a social media post, he said: “This deaths are very Avoidable, Your recklessness in managing your business has caused harm to families and made many parents childless. Your truck just killed three persons a few minutes ago in Auchi. You give trucks to little boys who are high on drugs and untrained. This won’t go unchallenged.”

This latest tragedy comes just days after a similar incident in Edo State involved the sister of reality TV star Phyna, who lost a leg in a Dangote truck accident. That case drew nationwide attention and calls for stricter regulation of commercial truck operations.

The recurrence of these accidents has intensified public scrutiny on fleet management and driver training practices at major industrial companies. Analysts warn that without urgent intervention, more lives remain at risk on the state’s busy roads.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the latest crash, but investigators are reportedly on the scene to determine the exact cause and accountability.

The incident underscores persistent concerns over road safety in Nigeria, particularly involving heavy-duty trucks, and highlights the urgent need for stronger enforcement of traffic and corporate responsibility regulations.
