Alaghodaro 2023 Begins Today With Edo Women Conference

The annual Alaghodaro Summit begins today, November 8 for the 2023 edition with the Edo Women Conference.

The Summit is organised by the Edo State government in partnership with the private sector, to mark the anniversary of Governor Godwin Obaseki in office and showcase the progress being recorded in transforming the State into an investment haven.

With the subject “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future,” the Summit which is the seventh edition holds from November 8 –12, 2023, in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

Other activities lined up to make this year’s Alaghodaro Summit memorable and exciting include the Benin City Tour and Cocktail on Thursday, November 9, 2023, while the main Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, State Award and Dinner are scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2023.

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, will be the Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Tour, and Youth Concert climaxing with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

The head of the local organizing committee and executive secretary of the Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited/Gte, Eire Ifueko Alufohai, in a statement, promised that this year’s summit, which is the final one to be held under Godwin Obaseki’s direction, will be unforgettable.

According to her, “All is set for the successful hosting of the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit scheduled to take place in Benin City between November 8 and 12, 2023.

“The four-day event will kick off officially tomorrow, November 8, with the Edo Women Conference which will serve as a veritable platform for Edo women to meet, share their experiences, challenges, success stories, and chart a path for sustainable development.”

“The Conference will cover a wide range of issues, from women’s participation in politics to entrepreneurship, girl-child empowerment, leadership, and the role of women in societal development.  We urge all Edo women to come out and be a part of this very insightful and thought-provoking conversation,” She added.
