Designed to process 650,000 barrels per day of 100% Nigerian crude, the refinery holds the promise of steering Africa’s largest oil producer toward self-sufficiency in petroleum products and reducing foreign exchange expenditure on imports.

With the capacity to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined product requirements and the flexibility to process various crude grades, including those from Africa, the Middle East, and the US, the Dangote Refinery stands poised as a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy.

Dangote added, “Our focus over the coming months is to ramp up the refinery to its full capacity. I look forward to the next significant milestone when we deliver the first batch of products to the Nigerian market.”

The refinery, compliant with global emission norms, boasts self-sufficient marine facilities, truck-loading gantries, and a strategic location 25 kilometers from the shore.

Its impact is expected to extend beyond national borders with the surplus production of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and aviation jet for export.
