The circular  cited  lack of commitment by the Ministry for Local Government and 25  local council Chairmen on resolving the issues of contention within the warning strike window as it affects salary of local government staff.

The statement further stated that the organized labour  had hoped that representatives of government would expedite action in ensuring that the ongoing negotiation  was concluded and that the  Ministry for Local Government and  the 25  council Chairmen would demonstrate the needed commitment to granting the demand of 100% salary payment for local governments staff before the expiration of the extended warning strike.

The workers added that failure to meet the demands would result in an indefinite strike after the expoiration of the second phase of the warning strike.

Recall that civil servants in Niger State began the warning strike at  12 midnight of Monday March 6, 2022.
