Champion Breweries topped the list of gainers, and the Northern Nigeria Flour Mill (NNFM) led the losers’ table as the stock market capitalisation appreciated by 1.62 percent on Thursday, June 5.

This represents a gain of N1.15 trillion, considering the stock market capitalisation increased to N72.27 trillion from N71.11 trillion on Wednesday, June 4.

The all-share index (ASI) also expanded to 114,616.75 ASI from 112,781.73 ASI, indicating an increase of 1,835.02 basis points.

About 1,46 billion shares, valued at N33,47 billion, were traded in 16,410 deals, against the 611.52 million shares exchanged in 13,682 deals, worth N16.68 billion, on Wednesday.

Top five gainers

  • Champion Brew’s share price increased by N0.70 kobo to rise from N7 to N7.70 kobo per share.
  • NGX Group’s share value grew by N3.60 kobo, from N36 to N39.60 kobo per share.
  • MTN Nigeria ended trading at N319.20 kobo per share, from N290.20 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N29.
  • Oando gained N5.15 kobo to end trading at N56.85 kobo, having opened with N51.70 kobo.
  • Morison’s share value was up by N0.29 kobo, after closing at N3.22 kobo from N2.93 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • NNFM’s share price depreciated by N13.85 kobo, dwindling from N138.90 kobo to N125.05 per share.
  • Associated Bus Company recorded a N0.26 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.40 kobo after opening with N2.66 kobo per share.
  • Legend Internet lost N0.56 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N5.34 kobo from N5.90 kobo per share.
  • Livestock reported a decline of N0.70 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N8.95 kobo to end trading at N8.25 kobo per share.
  • Omatek recorded a 7.59 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.73 kobo after opening with N0.79 kobo per share.

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 829.72 million shares valued at N15.97 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Legend Internet recorded 180.30 million shares valued at N1.01 billion.
  • Zenith Bank saw investors trade 62.81 million of its shares valued at N3.12 billion.
  • Japaul Gold recorded 34.83 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N69.60 million.
  • GTCO reported 30.90 million shares valued at N2.16 billion exchanged in investors’ hands.
