CEMAC Region AFDBS Awards 2024: ECOBANK, UBA Nominated For Regional Bank Of The Year

The Africa Finance Banking and Digitalisation Summit (AFDBS) for the CEMAC region has revealed the nominees for the inaugural AFDBS Awards 2024. The event will recognize outstanding achievements in fintech, innovation, digitisation, mobile payment, financial services, banking, digitalisation, SMEs, women, and financial inclusion.

The prestigious AFDBS Awards, set to take place on 25th January at the Grand Hôtel Kintélé in Brazzaville, Congo, will honor outstanding contributions in fintech, innovation, digitisation, mobile payment, financial services, banking, digitalisation, SMEs, women, and financial inclusion.

The event is under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Congo and is sponsored by BGFI, BSCA, Axiome, and FIGA.

The nominees, selected by the Awards Committee from prominent financial institutions operating in the CEMAC region, include notable figures and institutions across various categories. The gala evening will revolve around the theme “Digitalisation of the Banking Sector, a vector for growth and integration in the CEMAC region.”

The Africa Finance Banking and Digitalisation Awards 2024 have announced nominees, including Mr. Henri-Claude OYIMA, BGFI, Mr. Célestin Guela Simo, and Mrs. Amie Sow Ndiaye for Banker of the Year, Société Générale- Cameroon, BCI – Congo, and Afriland First Bank- Cameroon for Bank of the Year, and other notable institutions in categories such as Regional Bank of the Year ( Attijari bank, ECOBANK, UBA); DFI of the Year (La banque de développement des Etats de l’Afrique centrale, Blend Bank, Afreximbank); Fintech of the Year (Yellow Card, Maviance, Airtel Money); and Bank of the Year for SMEs (Advans Bank, Mutuelle Congolaise d’Epargne et de Crédit, Congolaise de Banque).

The AFDBS Awards ceremony promises to be a night of celebration and recognition, bringing together key players shaping the financial and digital landscape in the CEMAC region. Stay tuned for the winners to be announced during the official gala ceremony later this month.
