Bitcoin investor and Chief Executive Officer of cryptoasset, Tatcoin, Gaius Chibueze, has announced that he will fund Peter Obi’s Presidential bid in the coming general election with N10 million, days after he was announced as Labour Party’s candidate.

Chibueze said the N10 million will be paid in Naira, Bitcoin, Tatcoin, or Obi’s campaign team’s preferred currency. According to him, electioneering and campaigning is capital intensive. He made this known on Friday, via a statement on his Twitter account.

The businessman berated the current Nigerian government for its failure to deliver good governance to its people, stating that a repeat of the current administration could occur if the former governor of Anambra State loses the 2013 presidential election.

He said Nigerians will have to wait till 2031 before getting the opportunity to get it right again, hence, his decision to support Obi, who will be competing against two other candidates in the major parties, All Progressive Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP).

Recall that the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, was announced as the candidate for PDP, while the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, is one of the aspirants at APC, eyeing the Presidential seat.

In his words, Chibueze wrote, “To show my support and demonstrate my conviction that Nigeria needs a leader at this point, that has proven track records I am making a small donation of 10 million Naira to the Peter Obi Campaign organization.

“We are in another election circle to decide the fortune of our country for the next 8 years. We’ve all complained about the failure of the Nigerian government to deliver good governance to its people, we need to go beyond complaining to taking action in the direction of our hopes.”

The investor added, “So I am calling on all Nigerians home and abroad to donate to the Peter obi campaign because it has become obvious that 2023 election will be very pivotal to the unity, and hope of this country we all call home.

“After this circle our next opportunity will be in 2031. Imagine your life in 2031 with a repeat of the present system. I am sure you don’t like how that looks. I believe that the next election is between NIGERIANS represented by PETER OBI and the other 2 major parties.” the statement reads.
