Bernardo Silva Shuns European Giants, Commits to Extending Manchester City Stay

In a surprising turn of events, Manchester City‘s Bernardo Silva has reportedly chosen to remain at the Etihad, opting for a new contract with the English champions despite rampant speculation linking him with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona throughout the summer.

Contrary to earlier predictions of his departure from the club, Bernardo Silva has reportedly agreed to prolong his tenure at Manchester City by signing a fresh contract.

Despite enduring persistent interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain over several transfer windows, the Portuguese international seems poised to extend his allegiance to the Premier League titleholders.

Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed this development on Wednesday, announcing that the 29-year-old midfielder had conveyed his intention to the club hierarchy to commit to a new contractual arrangement.

According to Romano, the terms of Silva’s impending deal will bind him to Manchester City until June 2026.

Romano tweeted, “Bernardo Silva has now verbally agreed to sign a new contract at Manchester City — formally confirmed his decision to the club,”

“City expects Bernardo to sign contracts by the end of next week. Understand the new deal will be valid until June 2026” Romano tweeted.
