Aradel, Linkage Assurance, Other Gainers Add N539.97bn To Stock Market Cap

The Nigerian stock market capitalisation increased to N69.29 trillion on Monday, May 26, from N68.75 trillion on Friday, May 23.

This indicates the Nigerian bourse’s valuation increased by N539.97 billion or 0.78 per cent at the close of trading.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 856.3 basis points to increase from 109,028.62 ASI to 109,884.92 ASI.

Investors exchanged 414,50 million shares in 19,775 deals worth N11,09 billion at the end of trading on Monday, compared to Friday’s 637,54 million shares, worth N18,12 billion, traded by investors in 15,927 deals.

Top five gainers

  • Aradel’s share price increased by N45.90 kobo to rise from N460 to N505.90 kobo per share.
  • UPL’ share value grew by N0.43 kobo, up from N4.36 kobo to N4.79 kobo per share.
  • Associated Bus Transport ended trading at N2.70 kobo per share, from N2.49 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.21 kobo.
  • Linkage Assurance gained N0.12 kobo to end trading at N1.59 kobo, having opened with N1.47 kobo.
  • C&I Leasing’s share value was up by N0.30 kobo, after closing at N4.40 kobo from N4.10 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Tripple Gee’s share price depreciated by N0.23 kobo, dwindling from N2.30 kobo to N2.07 per share.
  • MRS recorded a N15.70 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N141.80 kobo after opening with N157.50 kobo per share.
  • Chellarams lost N1.17 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N10.58 kobo from N11.75 kobo per share.
  • UHOM REIT reported a decline of N5.05 from the previous day’s share price of N50.75 kobo to end trading at N45.70 kobo per share.
  • IMG recorded a N3.95 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N35.90 kobo after opening with N39.85 kobo per share.

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 46.76 million shares valued at N855.42 million were traded on its floor.
  • Custodian recorded 37.16 million shares valued at N736.17 million.
  • Access Corporation saw investors trade 35.93 million of its shares valued at N783.69 million.
  • GTCO recorded 24.94 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.73 billion.
  • Zenith Bank reported 17.94 million shares valued at N862.20 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
