Anambra 2025: APC Pegs Nomination Forms At ₦50m, Fixes 29 March For Primary

Following the announcement of a date for Anambra State 2025 governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has released a schedule of its activities for the exercise.

The party fixed 29 March as date for its primary election in the state.

According to the schedule of activities approved after the APC National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, governorship aspirants are to pay ₦50 million to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms.

The party leadership resolved that youth aspirants between the ages of  25 to 40 are to purchase the nomination and expression of interest forms with 50 per cent discount, while female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD), aspirants are to get the nomination forms free.

“All the nomination forms will be available for purchase at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja,” the schedule stated.

The party said the sale of the nomination forms will begin on Monday, 10 February and end Tuesday, 25 February.

Delegates to elect the candidates of the party must must have been members of the party for at least three months before the delegate congress and be financially up to date. Each delegate is also required to purchase a form with the sum of ₦5,000.

Prime Business Africa reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced 8 November as date for the Anambra governorship election.

The Commission’s national chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu during a consultative meeting with leaders of political parties, gave them 20 days to conduct primary elections, from March 20 to April 10.
