AfroCan Champions DR Congo Pips D’Tigers In Quarterfinals Clash

Nigeria’s men’s basketball national team D’Tigers on Thursday succumbed to a 74-72 defeat of AfroCan current champions DR Congo in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The tournament is played by players on tkskr domestic leagues across the African continent.

The team had on Wednesday beaten Gabon, 71-55, to bounce back to winning was at the AfroCan Championship in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and set up the clash against DR Congo.

The team won against Mali in their first match but Angola overcame the D’Tigers in their second match.

The Nigerian side was hurriedly assembled barely two weeks to the start of the tournament.

The team will face another opposition for the Classification game to determine the 6th and 7th place side.
