The Gambia, quarterfinalists at the last AFCON in Cameroon held in 2021, after conceding the first goal had put up some resistance in defence before the backbreaking goals.

The Scorpions were reduced to ten men just before the half time break when Ebrima Adams was red-carded for a vicious tackle on Lamine Camara.

The Senegalese did not relent in their efforts to make the game a difficult one for their opponents culminating in the two wonderful strikes by Camara.

For viewers watching all over the world, there was loss of signals from the broadcast rights holders for about 15 minutes.

Senegal will face five-time champions Cameroon on Friday evening in what is arguably the biggest fixture on paper at the tournament.
