The interest income increased to N3.54 trillion between the first quarter (Q1) and the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025, compared to the N3.48 trillion posted in the same period the previous year.

However, the financial institution recorded a 1.03 percent decline in its interest expense, which dropped from the N2.21 trillion recorded in 2024 to N2.18 trillion in 2025.

Consequently, Access Holdings reported net interest income of N1.35 trillion last year, surpassing the N1.26 trillion reported the previous year, indicating a 7 percent growth.

Also, the company saw a 46.77 percent year-on-year growth in fee and commission income, which increased from N514.13 billion recorded between January and December 2024 to N754.63 billion in 2025.

In addition, the company reported that fee and commission expenses increased to N169.56 billion last year, exceeding the N98.89 billion incurred in 2024, representing an increase of 71.46 percent.

Despite fee and commission expense outgrowing Fee and commission income, Access Holdings reported a 40.89 percent year-on-year growth in net fee and commission income, which increased to N585.06 billion, from N415.24 billion.

This contributed to the lender’s bottom line rising by 16.15 percent during the period under review, as Access Holdings recorded N1 trillion profit before tax (PBT) in 2025, compared to the N867.02 billion posted in 2024.

Additionally, Access Holdings incurred N264.07 billion as income tax between the first quarter and fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the N224.80 billion income tax reported in the corresponding period the year before.

The company was left with N743.04 billion as profit after tax last year, which is above the N642.21 billion post-tax profit recorded between January and December 2024.
