In a decisive move to combat the rampant filth plaguing markets across the state, the Lagos State government has sealed the Alamutu Plaintain Market in the Idi-Oro area of Mushin.
The closure was prompted by alarming concerns over poor sanitary conditions and improper waste disposal practices.

“It is paramount that we maintain a hygienic environment in our markets,” he asserted.

“This action is not just a response to Alamutu Market’s conditions, but a part of LAWMA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that markets in Lagos meet the required standards of cleanliness and sanitation.”

Dr. Gbadegesin emphasized the importance of upholding high sanitary standards in all markets across the state. He stated, “High sanitary standards are imperative for all markets in Lagos,” highlighting the seriousness of the matter.
The decision to seal Alamutu Plaintain Market comes on the heels of recent closures of several other markets, including the Oyingbo, Ladipo, and Alayabiagba areas of the state due to similar offenses.
Lagos State is leaving no stone unturned in its mission to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in its markets.
This resolute action by the Lagos State government sends a clear message that the authorities are unwavering in their commitment to ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for all residents.
