Lagos Plans 7-day Special Shopping At Eko Atlantic, TBS, Palms, Ikeja City Mall

As we move closer to 2023, a series of activities have been slated to take place during a 7-day shopping fair at iconic centres in Lagos.

The 7-day program which is one of the state government’s strategies to promote Lagos as a center of attraction to various tourists across the globe during the festive period has been scheduled to begin on the 8th to the 15th of December as disclosed by the MD of Chain Reactions Africa and leader of the delegation in charge of the project, Mr. Isreal Jaiye Opayemi.

He further disclosed that the team was working closely with the Ministry of Tourism in respect to the 7-day event, which is going to be a first of its kind Shopping Festival in Nigeria.

According to him, the plan was to keep business, entertainment and tourism 24 hours non-stop, for 7 days.

He said: “Lagos City will be awakened for entertainment and commerce, which is expected to boost employment and spike economic growth in the state as over 1000 merchants will participate in the event. The targeted audience includes, international and local tourists, luxury brands, designer brands and MSMEs.

“The festival is billed to be held in different venues such as, Eko Atlantic, TBS, Ikeja City Mall, Palms Shopping Mall and Festival Mall amongst others simultaneously for seven days non-stop. Lagos will be awake 24/7. There will also be music by big musical brands like Wizkid, Asa and Lagbaja among others, to add colour and glamour to the event.”

He disclosed that other activities like, musical concerts, parties, fashion shows, fireworks, food courts and film shows, will feature during the 7-day event.

The Honorable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has also expressed her excitement and anticipation of the event after the visit from a delegation sent by the organizers of the program on Tuesday. She the idea is very much welcomed by the state government and the ministry and are not only excited about the idea but are also willing to work closely with the organizers to ensure that the event is a success.
