Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s time as player of Serie A champions, SS Napoli, could be numbered after his agent, Roberto Calenda threatened to take legal actions on the club for mocking their prolific marksman.

Osimhen missed a penalty in the goalless draw against Bologna, making it his fourth successive game without scoring.

Osimhen was topscorer in the Serie last season with 26 league goals which helped the team win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years when Diego Maradona inspired them to winning the title in 1990.

The penalty misfortune led to an infamous Tik Tok video on the club’s official account  on Tuesday where the club appeared to mock the Nigerian who showed his frustration after he was substituted off in the 0-0 draw with Bologna.

Consequently, the striker who was named in the final shortlist for the 2023 Ballon D’Or and is in the running to win the African Footballer of The Year award deleted all but one of his Napoli pictures on Instagram.

Napoli will host Udinese parading the Nigerian duo of Isaac Success and Maduka Okoye on Wednesday night’s midweek Serie A game at the Stadio Diego Maradona

The only reminder on the social media platform that he remains a player for the Partenopei was the picture taken from the club’s first game of the season on August 19 against Frosinone which the club won 3-1.

Osimhen rebuffed a mind boggling £1m a week move to Saudi Arabia this summer but there are reports in the English media that Arsenal could be a possible destination for the player who admitted that legendary manager Arsene Wenger attempted to sign him for the Gunners.

The Arsenal dream was not fulfilled as Osimhen hinted that he wanted assurance of playing time at the Emirates stadium following his FIFA U-17 World Cup exploits in 2015 when he scored 10 goals in Chile to help Nigeria win a record fifth title at the cadet World Cup.

Osimhen’s contract expires in the summer of 2025.
