Africa Women’s Youth Handball Championship: Team Nigeria Arrives Tunisia, Set For Algeria Opener

Nigeria’s women U-18 Handball team have arrived Monastir, Tunisia ahead of the 19th Africa Women’s Youth Handball Championship which will begin on Saturday, reports Prime Business Africa.

The team coached by Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola and his assistant, Opuene Roberts, left the shores of the country on Thursday from the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and landed on Friday in Tunis-Carthage International Airport, Tunis before traveling via bus to Monastir where the competition will hold.

The Nigeria delegation is led by the Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Almu Umar Lambu.

The team had been in close camping at the Rowe Park Sports Center in Yaba Lagos and had played four friendly matches against Tojemarine Academy Under 17 Boys team and ASPAC HBC of Benin Republic.

They played their last friendly match against the top Benin Republic club which they won 27-21.

Nigeria is in group A with two-time champion and host, Tunisia, Algeria and Guinea.

The Nigerian team will play their first match against Algeria on Saturday at 2pm local time.
