Newly appointed Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has disclosed her intention of embarking on a mission to redefine Nigera’s identity on the global stage. The move, she said, is to reshape the nation’s international reputation.

During a visit to her hometown of Katsina, Musawa shared her vision of working to see a future where Nigeria would shed its infamous label as the world’s ‘419’ – a term synonymous with fraudulent activities – capital.

“We will project the ministry in a way that we can really change the narrative of who Nigerians are. No longer are we going to be known as the 419 capital in the world!” Musawa stated.

“Through this ministry, we will be able to push the narrative that will put Nigeria at the forefront of not only entertainment but also culture because it’s a country with a diverse reach culture and that it’s something that we owe to protect” Musawa affirmed.

She stated that the ministry’s efforts would not only spotlight Nigeria’s vibrant entertainment industry but also celebrate its rich cultural heritage. “Nigeria boasts a diverse and profound cultural heritage that we are committed to preserving,” Musawa added.

Expressing gratitude for the patience of her fellow Nigerians, the minister called for continued support for the Tinubu administration. Musawa highlighted her intention to enlist top talents, both domestically and among Nigerians abroad, to collaborate and contribute to the nation’s positive transformation.

“We’re inviting skilled professionals in various fields from the Nigerian diaspora to return and be part of this transformative journey. This collective effort will not only drive progress but also contribute significantly to the nation’s revenue,” Musawa emphasized, drawing from her extensive experience.

The minister outlined a proactive approach, announcing plans to release a detailed timeline of the ministry’s upcoming initiatives. “We’re ready to hit the ground running,” she asserted, thanking Nigerians for their resilience and urging their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Musawa stressed the administration’s transformative agenda and called for patience as they execute their visionary action plan. “Nigerians should give them the necessary support. With the kind of mission that the President and his Vice have, a little patience is required from Nigerians. They have a road map that will really revolutionalize the country and elevate it to a better country,” Musawa concluded.
