Since its release in February 2022, Rema’s infectious track ‘Calm Down’ has taken the global music scene by storm, dominating charts across North Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia.

The remarkable success of this Afrobeats anthem has now reached another milestone, as it continues to make waves on the UK Official Singles Chart.

In the latest update of the UK Official Singles Chart from 7 July 2023 to 13 July 2023, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ solidifies its position as the longest-charting Afrobeats record on the chart, spending an impressive 45 weeks among the top contenders.

Although it drops three places from its previous position at number 39, the longevity and popularity of this track remain unmatched.

Another notable Afrobeats artist, Burna Boy, also makes his mark on the chart with his 10th top 40 hit. Climbing two places from number 38, Burna Boy’s track reaches a new peak at number 36, further cementing his status as one of the genre’s most influential artists.

Meanwhile, Libianca’s ‘People’ experiences a slight decline, dropping three places to number 47. Nevertheless, the track continues to demonstrate its staying power, having spent an impressive 27 weeks on the chart. Similarly, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ remains steady at number 54, now celebrating its 24th week on the chart.

On the other hand, Davido’s ‘Unavailable’ faces a slight setback, descending five places to number 65 after completing its 11th week on the chart.

Turning our attention to the UK Official Afrobeats Chart for the week of 9 July 2023 to 15 July 2023, J Hus’s ‘Who Told You’ featuring Drake secures the top spot for another week, reaffirming its dominance in the genre. Burna Boy’s ‘Sitting On Top Of The World’ maintains its position at number 2, continuing to captivate listeners with its infectious beats and powerful lyrics.

Asake’s ‘Amapiano’ enjoys a significant climb, reaching a new peak at number 3, showcasing the rising popularity of this exciting sub-genre. Rema’s ‘Charm’ also makes progress, ascending one place to claim the number 4 spot, while Asake’s ‘Basquiat’ achieves its own milestone by reaching a new peak at number 5.

Omah Lay’s ‘Reason’ exhibits upward momentum, moving up two places to number 6, signaling his growing influence in the Afrobeats scene.

NSG’s ‘Unruly’ maintains its position at number 7, solidifying its reputation as a chart mainstay. Davido’s ‘Feel’ experiences a slight rise, moving up one spot to number 8, further adding to the Nigerian superstar’s impressive chart presence.

Tyler ICU’s ‘Mnike’ makes an impressive leap, climbing two places to number 9, while Spinall’s ‘Loju’ featuring Wizkid debuts at number 10, showcasing the strength and diversity of collaborations in the genre.

In terms of new entries and re-entries, Odumodu Blvck’s ‘Firegun’ makes a strong debut at number 15, leaving an indelible mark on the chart. Additionally, Davido’s ‘Kante’ re-enters the chart at number 12, reaffirming the artist’s enduring popularity and ability to captivate audiences with his unique sound.
