The Gunners U-21 star is wanted by lpwer league sides, Oxford United, Gillingham, and Stockport County but Romanian club, Rapid Bucharest is said to be in discussions with Akinola’s representatives about a potential transfer.

The player who turned 22 last month (May) played only two games for the Arsenal U-21 side last term and was in action for Chesterfield 31 times where he was previously on loan.

Akinola who was once invited to the Nigerian U-23 national team during the qualifying stages to the ongoing CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will hope to negotiate the best deal for himself before the start of pre season duties for most European clubs in July.
