Nigeria’s Stock Market Value Up By N51.81bn, UBA, GTCO Top Trade

On Tuesday, Nigeria’s stock market capitalisation ended trading at N32.18 trillion, surpassing Monday’s N32.13 trillion, as the bourse’s value grew by N51.81 billion.

The All-Share Index appreciated by 95.17 basis points from 59,014.85 ASI, to 59,110.02 ASI.

At the end of trading, about 588.85 million shares exchanged investors’ hands in 8,272 deals, worth N8.96 billion. 

This was against the 892.95 billion shares, valued at N11.14 billion, that investors exchanged on Monday, in 9,274 deals.

Top five gainers

  • Chams’ share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.40 kobo to N0.44 kobo per share.   
  • Sky Aviation grew by N0.70 kobo, up from N7 to N7.70 kobo per share.   
  • Academy ended trading with N0.18 kobo from N1.80 kobo per share, rising by N0.18 kobo.    
  • Guinea Insurance gained 10 per cent to end trading at N0.22 kobo, having opened with N0.20 kobo per share.   
  • Learn Africa’s stock was up by N0.24 kobo, closing at N2.66 kobo from N2.42 kobo per share. 

Top five losers

  • C&I Leasing depreciated by N0.45 kobo, dwindling from N4.50 kobo to N4.05 per share.    
  • Cornerstone also fell by N0.11 kobo to end trading at N1.01, after opening at N1.12 kobo per share.  
  • NSLTECH followed the same path, losing 8.70 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.42 kobo from N0.46 kobo per share.    
  • Veritas Kapital reported a decline of 8.70 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.23 kobo to end trading at N0.21 kobo per share.    
  • RT Briscoe share depreciated to N0.34 kobo from N0.37 kobo, after losing 8.11 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

  • UBA reported 78.51 million shares, valued at N907.47 million, were traded on its floor.    
  • GTCO recorded 65.39 million shares valued at N2.10 billion.    
  • Transcorp saw investors trade 33.70 million shares valued at N112.04 million.    
  • Access Corporation recorded 31.37 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N466.62 million.    
  • Veritas Kapital reported 27.75 million shares, valued at N6.08 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
