Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former Vice President of the World Bank has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari on insecurity, saying the later was ‘ineffectual Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’  The former Minister of Education, in her tweets (@obyezeks) on Wednesday, asked the outgoing President to ‘swiftly’ hand over power to her.

Ezekwesili’s comments followed the rage of social media criticism of the President by his supporters who claimed that he had failed abysmally on security and others., having failed to secure Nigeria from insurgency and other forms of infiltration from neighbouring countries.
The socio-political activist who celebrated her 60th birthday recently had – alongside her guests (Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and others women continental women leaders) called for more social justice in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
“Let’s ask the ineffectual Commander-in-Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces @MBuhari to swiftly hand over power to me so I can satisfy his supporters’ cry on his ignoble failure to secure the country, citizens and residents of Nigeria,” Ezekwesili said in one of her tweets on Wednesday.
“I welcome their vote of confidence in me. “I welcome their vote of confidence in me,” she tweeted.
She noted the impossibility of expecting President  Buhari to deliver on good governance.
“Once I analytically surmised that demanding action on any governance issue from @MBuhari was equivalent to expecting the impossible, I stopped. We have a so-called Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, who sorely degenerated the state of our country’s security. Ignoble legacy.”
