2023 Elections: Kaduna Witnesses Low Turnout Of Voters, Sokoto Women Take To The Polls

There has been voter apathy in Kaduna state as at the time of this report in Saturday’s Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections that are ongoing, Prime Business Africa reports.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) arrived at most of the polling units before 7.30 am while voting began an hour later.

Voters in most polling units disclosed that the absence of eligible people is mainly because they believe that their votes did not count in the February 25 Presidential election.

The total number of registered voters in the North West zone of Nigeria is 4,335,208 while 4,164, 473 PVCs were collected and 170, 735 were uncollected.

However, in Sokoto state, there were massive turnouts, especially from women aged 18 to 65.

Two queues for the male and female voters were created as well as that for the elderly and pregnant women.
