Tinubu Promises Heads Will Roll In CBN To Achieve Single Exchange Rate

Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has assured the citizens that he would serve Nigeria with all that he has, urging them to collaborate to make things work

Tinubu, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded presidential election made the call during his acceptance speech on Wednesday morning.

The INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, in the early hours of Wednesday, declared Tinubu as the winner of the election after the collation of results was concluded at the International Conference Centre, Abuja used as the National Collation Centre.

In his acceptance speech, Tinubu implored the opposition parties and his opponents to join hands with him in taking Nigeria to a greater height.

“Let’s collaborate and work together. I promise to work with you,” Tinubu said while giving his acceptance speech in Abuja on Wednesday morning.

The President-elect also praised Nigerians, particularly those who voted against his party, which he described as a way to strengthen democracy in Nigeria.

In attendance at the event were the vice-president-elect, Kashim Shettima, All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and APC governors, among others.

The former Lagos State governor was declared the president-elect after he polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. While Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party came fourth.

The first three presidential candidates won in 12 states each while Kwankwaso only won in Kano State.
However, Tinubu beat Atiku, a former vice president, who was his closest contender, with 1.8 million votes.
