The past time both teams faced off in the Premier League, Brighton defeated the Reds 3-0.

They had drawn the first meeting in the league, a 3-3 draw in which Arsenal’s new forward, Leandro Trossard scored all three Brighton goals.

Kaoru Mitoma, bought by Brighton for £2.5 million, scored in stoppage time of the match after Tariq Lamptey’s low shot in the 39th minute was deflected into the Brighton net by his teammate, Lewis Dunk in the 39th minute to cancel Harvey Elliot’s goal nine minutes earlier.

The youngster raced onto a nice pass from Mohamed Salah as Liverpool mounted a blistering counter attack.

The goal was checked by VAR and was eventually deemed legitimate much to the relief of Jurgen Klopp.

The game looked like it was headed for extra time but in the stoppage time, Misoma produced a piece of improvised skill, beating two defenders and rifling the ball into the top corner.

The draw for the 2022-23 FA Cup fifth round, featuring the last 16 teams is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 30.
