Arteta Expects Ruthless Arsenal Against Man City After FA Cup Exit

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta admitted that Arsenal needs to learn to be ruthless against Manchester City after Nathan Ake’s goal earned Pep Guardiola’s men a 1-0 win in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday to knock Arsenal out of the competition.

Arteta saw his side impress but ‘ultimately made to suffer an injury to a key player, Thomas Partey.

“Really disappointed. I think we could have got much more out of the game,” said Arteta.

“We had big situations in the game and we didn’t put them away. In the big moments, in big matches you have the make the difference. That is how you win these games.”

Guardiola, who Arteta worked under as his assistant before taking up the Arsenal job said:

“A tight game against a really difficult opponent and we won it,” said City manager, Guardiola,

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hoves Albion midfielder, Moises Caicedo hopes to push through his exit from the Seagulls amid interest in his services.

Ecuador international made a passionate appeal to the hierarchy at Brighton to let him move after Arsenal’s bid of £60m was made.

Arsenal would need a capable replacement for the injured Thomas Partey.

Partey went off injured as the Gunners were beaten by Guardiola’s men, Manchester City and thus eliminated from the competition.

Arsenal is England’s most successful team in the FA Cup with 14 titles.
