NGX Gains N262.26 billion, As Market Cap Hits N24.23 trillion

The market capitalisation ended trading with N24.23 trillion, rising from N23.97 trillion, after the Nigerian bourse jumped 1.09 percent, representing N262.26 billion gain.

This followed the All-Share Index that appreciated from 44,011.22 ASI to 44,492.73 ASI after gaining 481.51 basis points.

Over 146.67 million shares, worth N1.23 billion were traded on Friday in 3,028 deals.

It was in contrast to the 97.69 million shares traded on Thursday in 2,980 deals, worth N847.88 million

Top five gainers

Nigerian Breweries’ share appreciated by N3.75kobo to rise from N37.50kobo to N41.25kobo per share.

Union Bank grew by N0.55kobo, up from N5.95kobo to N0.55kobo per share.

Associated Bus Company ended trading with N0.25kobo from N0.23kobo per share, rising by 8.70 percent.

Mansard gained N0.12kobo to end trading at N1.77kobo, having opened with N1.65kobo.

United Capital’s stock was up by N0.75kobo closing at N12.05 from N11.30kobo per share.

Top five losers

Fidson depreciated by N0.84kobo, dwindling from N68.99kobo to N8.15kobo per share.

Wapic also fell by 8.33 percent to end trading at N0.33kobo, after opening with N0.36kobo per share.

Rega Insurance followed the same path, losing 8 percent after trading hours, to sell at N0.23kobo from N0.25kobo per share.

Sovereign Insurance reported a decline of 7.69 percent from the previous day’s share price of N0.26kobo to end trading at N0.24kobo per share.

Mutual Benefit share depreciated to N0.27kobo from N0.28kobo, after losing 3.57 percent during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

Transcorp reported 24.36 million shares valued at N26.94 million were traded on its floor.

FBN Holdings recorded 21.76 million shares valued at N237.35 million.

Courtville saw investors trade 16.97 million of its shares valued at N7.80 million.

Fidelity Bank recorded 12.60 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N51.06 million.

Linkage Assurance reported 8 million shares valued at N3.30 million exchanged investors’ hands.
