Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has demanded justice for a late Ambassador Otobo Eloho who suddenly went missing in the US only to be found dead.

Dabiri-Erewa made this known, yesterday, August 11, 2022 during a colloquium organised by Prime Business Africa in honour of the late Otobo who until his sudden death, was a director with the fast rising online business newspaper, Prime Business Africa.

The NiDCOM boss stressed: “Otobo shouldn’t die in vain. The Nigerian government should continue to demand what happened to Otobo and how he died. We need that information!”

While sending warm condolences to the widow of the late ambassador, the NiDCOM chairman pledged NiDCOM shall support the bereaved family without ceasing.

Police in Tuckahoe, New York, United States, where the deceased resided had found the body of the former Nigerian diplomat,  who was last seen in the community on June 15.

The Tuckahoe Police Department on June 19 announced in a Facebook post that Etobo was missing and requested information from the public.

Etobo, who was 70-year-old at the of his death, served as the Director and Deputy Head, Peacebuilding Support Office at the United Nations headquarters in New York between December 2006 and October 2013.

Until his death, he was a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in Peacebuilding and Global Economic Policy at the Global Governance Institute in Brussels as well as a frontline director of Prime Business Africa – hence the webminar the PBA management oranised in his honour.

Other personalities who graced the Prime Business Africa’s online event included his widow, Esther Otobo, Ambassadors Oleloka Obaze, Joe Keshi. Other high end personalities at the PBA colloquium were Laolu Akande, the current spokesperson of the vice president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as well as Professor Pat Utomi, a popular political economist.
