Oburududu, Odunayo Qualify For Commonwealth Games Wrestling Final

Nigeria’s duo of Blessing Oborududu and Odunayo Adekuoroye on Friday qualified for the final of the wrestling events of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The finals of the wrestling contests will hold on Saturday evening.

In the 57kg category, Odunayo Adekuoroye defeated Ugandan wrestler Veronica Ayo and then exerted same to Kenya’s Sophia Ayieta 10-0 before booking a place in the final courtesy of the 10-0 win over Hannah Taylor of Canada.

For Blessing Oburududu in the 68kg category, she got past Divya Kakran of India and rounded off her day’s victories with another commanding 10-0 win versus Tonga’s Tiger Cocker Lemale.
