Commonwealth Games 2022: Team Nigeria Wins Two Gold Medals, Two Bronze

Nigeria’s Chioma Onyekwere, Obiageri Amaechi and and Mary Osuji increased the country’s medals haul at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as they won one Gold and two Bronze medals respectively for Team Nigeria Tuesday night in the Discus and Weightlifting events reports Prime Business Africa.

Obiageri Amaechi won Bronze for the same Discus event while in the Weightlifting Women’s event, Mary Osuji won Bronze in the 87kg category.

Nigeria has now won three golds, and four bronze medals in total at the Games.

On Wednesday, Team Nigeria will hope rave of the moment, Tobilola Amusan will step to the tracks in the 100m Hurdles event to replicate the form she displayed in the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA where she created a record and has become the first Nigerian to win gold medal at the World Athletics Championships since the maiden edition in 1982.
