Only Roger Federer (2003-2007), Pete Sampras (1997-2000), and Sweden’s Björn Borg (1976-1980) have same or more finals in the Open Era.

It was also the second time Djokovic will come from a set down to win at this year’s edition having also come from a set down against Italian, Jannik Sinner in the quarter final.

His opponent Kyrgios has equally dropped five sets in this campaign but has a better head-to-head result from their meetings in 2017. Kyrgios won in straight sets on both occasions at the round of 16 in Acapulco (7-6(9) 7-5) and the Indian Wells Masters quarter finals (6-4 7-6(3)).
