Caverton, Linkage Assurance Shares Soar, As Stock Market Gains N6.55 billion

Stock market rose 0.02% after close of business on Friday, resulting to the market capitalisation gaining N6.55 billion, to settle at N27.94 trillion, from N27.93 trillion.

The growth was in response to the All Share Index closing at 51,829.67, rising by 12.07 basis points from 51,817.59.

Investors parted with N1.70 billion on Friday, to exchange 127.03 million shares in 3,718 deals.

Trading fell behind the 223.11 million shares traded in 4,213 deals, worth N3.87 billion, on Thursday.

Top five gainers

  • TIP gained 10 percent, after its stock price appreciated from N0.40kobo to N0.44kobo per share.
  • Cutix reported an uptick of N0.22kobo, as its share rose from N2.25kobo to N2.47kobo per share.
  • Linkage Assurance share went up by 9.62 percent, rising to N0.57kobo from N0.52kobo per share.
  • John Holt saw its share price gain 9.33 percent, increasing to N0.82kobo from N0.75kobo per share.
  • Caverton recorded an appreciation of 8.82 percent, after the share went from N1.02 to N1.11kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Courtville share depreciated by 7.84 percent, dwindling from N0.51kobo to N0.47kobo per share.
  • Nahco share dropped in value by N0.50kobo, to settle at N8 from N8.50kobo per share.
  • Cadbury followed the same path, losing N0.95kobo after trading hours, to sell at N16.30kobo from N17.25kobo per share.
  • Neimeth reported a decline of 3.87 percent in its share, depreciating from N1.55kobo to N1.49kobo per share.
  • UPDC share lost 3.74 percent from previous day’s N1.07, dropping to N1.03 per share.

  • GTCO reported 23.46 million shares valued at N480.29 million, were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 22.20 million shares valued at N165.58 million.
  • Sterling Bank saw investors trade 7.40 million of its shares worth N11.14 million.
  • Oando 7.33 million shares worth N40.08 million were exchanged.
  • FBN Holdings reported that 5.97 million shares exchanged hands of investors, valued at N67.51 million.
