Since Interswitch was created in 2002, by Mitchell Elegbe, it has grown to over $1 billion valuation, with products like Quickteller enjoying high adoption for bill settlement across Africa, which has led to the provision of over 35 million active cards to customers.

The new development regarding the benefit package was disclosed by the firm on Monday. Part of the benefit includes enhanced maternity benefits, home country mobile status, acting/step-up capacity, and child education support.

It was gathered that the allowances paid to the spouse can also be accessed by the employees, if need be.

Explaining the reason that drove the decision, Interswitch said, “From early on in our journey as a business, it has never been lost on us that the satisfaction enjoyed by our customers and partners directly impacts their loyalty to our offerings and their affinity to our business.

“This satisfaction results from the value the customer receives from our satisfied, productive and loyal employees – our phenomenal.” A statement by the country disclosed.

It further stated that, “Based on the workings of the service-profit chain, this would invariably impact our revenues and profit as an enterprise. We are not in doubt as to the reality that when our employees are engaged, productive and highly satisfied, only then does the brand itself stand the chance of succeeding.”
