Nigeria Drawn Against France, Canada, Korea Rep In FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s Super Falconets will play against France, Canada and Korea Republic in Group C of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after Thursday evening’s draws reports Prime Business Africa.

The tournament holds between August 10th and August 28th 2022 and the Falconets defeated Senegal 4-1 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City last month and qualified for the World Cup 7-2 on aggregate.

Africa’s second representative, Ghana will play defending champions, Japan, Netherlands and USA in Group D.

Only four countries, namely Germany, Brazil, USA and Nigeria have played in all editions of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup since the competition started as U19 championship in Canada 20 years ago.

Germany have won the competition three times (2004, 2010 and 2014); USA have also won it on three occasions (2002, 2008 and 2012), while Nigeria have played at the final twice, losing to Germany in 2010 and 2014.

Host country Costa Rica will kick-off the tournament with the opening game on August 10 against Australia.

GROUP C:

Nigeria, France, Canada, Korea Republic

GROUP D:
