Leaders Manchester City and top challengers Liverpool shared the spoils Sunday evening in the English Premier League blockbuster that ended 2-2 ensuring that the race for the top prize could go down to the wire reports Prime Business Africa.

City’s Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne put City ahead with a clinical finish in the 5th minute but five minutes later Diogo Jota restored parity for the Reds. Pep Guardiola’s Men however finished the first half with a 2-1 lead courtesy of Jesus Gabriel nine minutes before the break.

Sadio Mane  then equalised for Liverpool barely a minute into the second as he played onside by Kyle Walker after latching onto a through pass.

The draw was Liverpool’s first on 10 consecutive matches in the league and they have failed to defeat title rivals City in their last five Premier League contests.

Man City top the league standings with 74 points, while Liverpool are placed second with 73 points.

Over four seasons, the two juggernauts have been evenly matched, taking their respective tallies to 339 and 338 points respectively.
