Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has described as unbearable the level of dirt in the state and disclosed that his government would need to shut down markets for at least two days for a special clean-up.

Soludo met with representatives of the 95 market unions and 50 transport groups and parks in the state, where he emphasized how the new Anambra would work. tAt least, three representatives were selected from each of the 95 marke;lt groups and 50 transport groups  for the parley which became the governor’s  first town hall meeting with the people of the state since he was sworn into office on March 17.

The discussion bordered specifically on how to manage the state’s markets and transport going forward.

The governor also noted that all markets in Anambra State would need to be remodelled  to allow free flow of human and vehicular traffic in and out of the locations, especially during emergencies.

He harped on the need for all to agree with the fact that things must not go on as usual if the state truly desired the disruptive change embedded in the ‘Soludo Solution’ philosophy.

On the Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB) sit-at-home action on Mondays, Governor Soludo  agreed with the market leaders that the movement should end on April 4, 2022, even as the governor reassured the people on security of lives and property going forward.

He re-iterated his ban on activities of touts to the excitement of the groups, just as he assured that the state’s internally-generated revenue (IGR) would improve.

‘’Anambra IGR will fully belong to Ndi Anambra,’’ the governor insisted.

The groups in response, reassured the governor of their support and expressed gratitude for his resolve to serve the state in a special way.
