About N2.39 trillion was lost on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Wednesday, as the market capitalisation decreased to N144.82 trillion from N147.21 trillion reported at the end of trading on Tuesday.
The all-share index contracted to 225,690.07 ASI, from the 229,419.18 ASI recorded the day before, indicating a 3,729.11 basis points decline.
NGX said 488.11 million shares were traded in 46,929 deals, worth N13.96 billion, below the 966.66 million shares exchanged in 49,579 deals, valued at N39.98 billion on Tuesday.

- Guinea Insurance’s share value grew by 9.89 percent, from N0.91 kobo to N1 per share.
- Abbey Mortgage Bank’s share appreciated by N0.70 kobo, to end trading at N7.95 kobo, having opened with N7.25 kobo.
- DAAR Communication’s share ended trading at N1.37 kobo per share, from N1.25 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.12 kobo.
- Regal Insurance’s share value was up by 9.52 percent, after closing at N0.92 kobo, from N0.84 kobo per share.

- FGSUK2033S6’s share price depreciated by N21.99 kobo, dwindling from N122.99 kobo to N100.99 kobo per share.
- McNichol’s recorded a N0.85 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.65 kobo, after opening with N8.50 kobo.
- Neimeth recorded a N0.90 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N8.10 kobo, after opening with N9 per share.
- Aradel lost N141.70 kobo in its share price, to sell at N1,275.80 kobo, down from N1,417.50 kobo per share.
- Nascon reported a decline of N21.90 kobo, from the previous share price of N219.50 kobo, to end trading at N197.60 kobo per share.

- Sterling Financial Holdings Company reported that 124.61 million shares valued at N980.63 million were traded on its floor.
- UPDC recorded 40 million shares valued at N130.36 million.
- Access Holdings saw investors trade 368.43 million of its shares valued at N811.55 million.
- Honeywell Flour recorded 33.77 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N490.08 million.
- United Capital reported that traders exchanged 28.34 million shares valued at N469.14 million.
